A visit to the Musée du quai Branly

On a whim, we dropped by the Musée Branly, and ended up buying African artifacts and trinckets at their well-stocked shop, full of books on Asian, Chinese, Oriental books.  Also bought an incredibly beautiful CD by the renowned African musicians Ali Farka Touré and Toumani Diabaté, called “In the Heart of the Moon”.

It conjures up visions of the rolling, golden sands of the desert, with the magnificent Touareg tribe, travelling slowly on their camels, which was beautifully depicted in the movie, “Le Dernier Vol”, directed by Karim Dridi, with Marion Cotillard and Guillaume Canet.  Magnificent!

The desert has always fascinated.
