Café Pouchkine… Hypnotically Sumptuous…

Café Pouchkine

Made me feel very…

Russian…

Dressed accordingly… I rushed to meet my “adored one” at the Russian pâtisserie…

We had a rendezvous at…

Café Pouchkine

In the very heart of…

Paris…

Entering this tiny, glamorous, enchanting café is like being transported… “pour un moment”… to Moscow… Saint Petersburg… or Kiev…

The pretty blonde waitress… with impeccable manners, efficiency, and an air of total professionalism… was pouring the amber-coloured tea from the silver Russian teapot we ordered… accompanied by the mouth-wateringly… out of this world… “gateau“… a beautiful white-petalled rose… the “Rose Pouchkine“… and  the “Rose du Tsar“… a chocolate version of it…

Works of art… masterpieces…

Heaven…

The array of patisseries displayed in the beautiful Russian “vitrine”… were… fabulous…

There was the Dome-shaped gateau… with its swirling lines of… “chocolat”… enveloping a meltingly sumptuous creamy crunchy interior… the “Napoléon“… a tall haughty concoction of wafer-thin caramelized croustillant shell… that is intoxicatingly delicious… the “Millefeuille Russe Vanille“… a Russian version of the Parisian “mille-feuille”… the “Bon Baiser de Moscou“… the “Roulé Pavot” or “fraisier”…

However… ” la pièce de résistance”… for Saint Valentines lovers… “la Tablette à Partager“…  “un petit gateau de chocolat avec une seule rose rouge… en haut”… a tiny chocolate cake with a red rose on top… among other love bits and pieces of hearts and tiny “macarons”…

“Simplement… adorable”…

The “love concoction”… was being snapped up off the shelves… by young men and women anxious to send tokens of their unlimited love… to their lovers…

A…a…h…

“Les amoureux”…

Sipping on our delicately flavoured tea… from lovely porcelain tea cups… was heart-warming after the icy week we’ve been enduring… and having devoured our succulent gateau…

My beloved and I…

Adored our Russian experience at the…

Café Pourchkine

“C’était inoubliable”…

Unforgettable…

A perfect… little… gem…

A Jewel… in the very heart…

Of Paris…

Hypnotic

A positively… decadent treat…

Weloveit
