Le News Café… le Matin à Paris…

Le News Café

In… Saint-Germain-des-Prés…

“Sixième arrondissement… de Paris”…

Is…

“Juste… en face”…

Opposite…

The… luxuriously verdant…

Jardin du… Luxembourg…

Alighting… from bus 82…

“Le… matin”…

We landed at… “la terrasse”… of the conveniently welcoming

Le News Café

It’s a lovely brasserie… which offers the best…

“Café… bien chaud”…

Having run out of the… ubiquitous “croissant”… we were urged to nip into the “boulangerie” next door… where we bought the freshly baked croissants… then went back to our Café News… to have our express and read…

The news… of the day…

“Ayrault assume le ‘sérieux’, mais pas ‘l’austérité’… “French PM ‘rejects austerity’ in first parliament speech”…

“Barclays CEO resigns over rate-fixing scandal…”

“Oscar-nominated screenwriter Nora Ephron, known for such popular romantic comedies as “When Harry met Sally” and “Sleepless in Seattle”, dies…”

“Anne Sinclair… at last separates from her errant husband DSK“…  (Or has she..?!)

“Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis to divorce”…

“Katie Holmes files for Divorce from Tom Cruise”… Shock… horror… why aren’t we surprised..?!

“Federer favori à Wimbledon 2012″…  “Dieu merci”… Federer… my favourite is still ON… at Wimbledon…

Ah well… another day’s news…

“Eh… alors”…

Our weather in France in general… Paris in particular… is still “variable“…

Sunny one day… cloudy with rain the rest of the week…

“Mon… Dieu”…

It’s a… puzzlement…

“Nous sommes… bouleversés”…

It’s as if we’re still in the midst of… well… NO summer at all…

“Voila”…

However… after our lovely morning “p’tit dèj”… we take a walk in…

“Le Jardin… du Luxembourg”…

The gardens of Marie de Medicis’ palace…the second largest public park in Paris…

“C’est… magnifique”…

After which… we saunter all the way up to the famous…

Boulevard du Montparnasse…

Where we pass by the legendary La Coupole… Le Select… Le Dôme… which the great and famous who inhabited Paris in the 1920’s… 30’s… 40’s… F. Scott Fitzgerald… Ernest Hemingway… Picasso… Somerset Maugham … Gertrude Stein… frequented…

Ahh… “la nostalgie”…

“L’histoire… de Paris”…

Having a deadline… to finish an article…

We jumped on… bus 82… heading home…

Only to return… sooner rather than later to…

Le NewsCafé

A lovely… place…

To be…

“Le… matin…

à… Paris”…
