Nadal vs. Djokovic… at Roland Garros…
Roland… Garros…
Is in… full swing…
Brimming with… an excitable audience…
It is also… 27°C of searing heat… à Paris…
Djokovic… vs… Nadal…
Herculean… giants…
Lethally… ambitious…
Powerful…
Ranking… No. 1 and No. 4… internationally…
The game… is…
Fierce…
Exciting…
The only way tennis tournaments… should be played…
Passionately…
Of… course…
I miss… “The fabulous one”…
Roger… Federer…
Badly…
Madly…
He was out of the game early on… beaten by the French Tsonga…
Shock…
Yes… I do so appreciate the two players… the fiery Spaniard Rafael Nadal… “Apache” to me… and the steely Novak Djokovic… (reputed to be the “Rasputine” of tennis)… and I’m thoroughly enjoying the game…
But…
Federer… is one in a million…
He is an amazing player… a phenomenon…
“Un homme… à part“…
I miss… his style…
His… elegance…
The… beautiful backhand…
Agility… his grace…
I am… besotted…
Inconsolably…
Yet…
I am well aware of the passage of time… “Feddy” will be 32 in August. We even share the same zodiac sign…
Watching him play… took my breath away…
He was… he is… poetry in motion…
A “Baryshnikov”… a symphony…
A… work of art…
If only time stood still… so that I could continue watching… “the adored one”… winning Roland Garros as well as Wimbledon… forever…
Federer is described as… one of the greatest players of all time…
Back to the game in the Court Philippe Chatrier at Roland Garros… which was jam-packed to the hilt… where Nadal seemed to be winning… after which Djokovic gained pace…
The final round was nail-bitingly tense… with two excruciatingly exhausted players… having been on court for the four hour 36 minute marathon… under the unrelentingly blazing sun…
It was Nadal… who won in the final fifth set a whopping… 6-4, 3-6, 6-1, 6-7, 9-7…
A wonderful… robust game it was…
Thoroughly… exhilarating…
But…
I still… pine for…
Federer…
Tennis tournaments simply… are not the same for me… without his presence…
“Raffiné“… gracious…
Cool… brilliant…
Roger… Federer…
“Une légende“…
For me… he will…
Forever… be…
My…
“The fabulous one”…
My… Hero…
