Le Hibou.. à l’Odéon…

Drenched… soaking wet…img04139-20140806-1156_0

With…unreasonable…

Insane…

Lashings… of torrential…

Wind… rain…

Furiously… relentlessly…

Targeting… us…

We were delighted to take refuge… in the conveniently located… overhauled café bistro…

Le Hibou

Which is… “juste à côté de la faculté de médecine“… opposite Le Comptoir du RelaisOdéon

The propriétaire is… “Our Man in Paris”… the resourceful… Thierry Bourdoncle who is single-handedly responsible for… not only renovating several outdated establishments into outstanding… elegant… and stylish… state-of-the-art venues… but also elevating the outmoded standards of Parisian cafés… brasseries… restaurants… into modern-day excellence…

Admirable…

Passionately in love with Paris… we are fortunate to have someone as passionate and dedicated to this unique city… to bring it back to its former… “gloire et beauté“…

Instead of… like many rushing… “à Londres“… on the first Eurostar…

Unacceptable…

Unforgivable…

Le Hibou

Is in stark contrast to its twin sister… Le Dôme de Villiers

The décor is in black… with shades of dark dank green…

Stunning…

On the lovely terrasse… the black umbrellas are stylish to the extreme… giving shade to the round tables and rattan chairs… all sitting well with the wooden floor planks…

A handsome… well stocked zinc bar inside… gives a feeling of warmth and bonhomie… while the main restaurant is…

Cool…

Pleasing…

We like the grey uniforms of the waiters… with the ubiquitous “typiquement” Parisian long black aprons…  The service is brisk and sharp.

Odéon… will never… ever…

Be… boring again…

Thierry Bourdoncle… has an uncanny habit of lighting up a space…

LeHibou

Is… dark…

Enigmatic…

Dynamic…
