Japon.. Mon Amour

Something about Japan hypnotises me. It is a country, a culture that is mesmeric. From exotic Tokyo to the dazzling Kyoto.
Japan, the land of the rising sun.
It is in one’s soul.

I have been told that I existed in Japan many lifetimes ago, that may be the reason for my great fascination with the country, my longing.. that does not dwindle nor abate…

A Short Trip to London…

On a short pre-Christmas trip to London.. we were invited for a business breakfast at The Wolseley. The architect William Curtis Green was influenced by Venetian and Florentine architecture with an Eastern exotic touch thrown in.

The Wolseley is grand… atmospheric.. with towering pillars.. arches… stairways.. and a dramatic black and white diamond marble flooring. It’s hard to believe that in 1921 it was a prestigious car showroom.. later evolving into Barclays Bank. Chris Corbin and Jeremy King acquired the site in 2003. Its restoration and renovation was realised by David Collins Architects. The Wolseley opened that same year. We were more than impressed by the ambiance.. the charm.. and the beauty of the place…

Paris Property Group: Making Dreams Come True…

It could be the subject of a real estate reality show. Paris Property Group clients Jeff and Kristy, a young couple expecting their first child, wanted a pied-a-terre in Paris that would also be a great rental investment property. The pair, physicians based in Phoenix, Arizona, first thought Jeff would come to look at property alone, so that Kristy wouldn’t have to travel late in her pregnancy; but he didn’t want to make the choice for them both. Rajasthan Blogasthan!

Rajasthan! The very name conjures up images of princely states and fabled forts, of Maharajas and city palaces, of gemstones, silken fabrics, camels and elephants. And, indeed, all of those were on full view in the cities we visited: Jaipur, Udaipur, Jodphur and, way out near the Pakistan border, Jaisalmer.

We began our journey though, in Punjab, driving from Delhi to Agra, which historically alternated with Delhi as the capital of the Mughal Empire. Here, we joined the millions of other visitors who pour annually through a handsome red sandstone gateway, and come face to face with one of the world’s great monuments, the Taj Mahal, standing since 1652 on the banks of the Yamuna River…
