Sarkozy vs. Hollande... A Tense Debate....

Hollande... vs... Sarko...

During last night's... pre-French presidential election debate...

"Président"...  Nicolas Sarkozy... was in a state of extreme trepidation...

As he was informed by François Hollande... his socialist party rival for the presidency... that he had... "failed"... the French people.  Fighting for his "presidency"... and political life... Sarkozy was reprimanded by his opponent that... "unemployment rose by one million"... under his leadership... four million in total... a record high... 10% of the population.

Hollande... cool and controlled... accused Sarkozy that when he came to power, he had said that if he did not reduce unemployment to 5%... he would have failed.

The president snarled back... arguing that there has been a world financial "crise"... during his term in office.

Watching the two politicians... sitting in the stark well designed black and grey television studio... eight feet apart across a single table... equipped with height adjustable chairs on Sarkozy's insistence... was surprisingly... exciting and entertaining...

A duel... between two opponents... "façe à façe"... ferociously fighting to lead this great nation... "La France"... in the 2012 Presidential elections.

The tense.. "débat"... was being broadcast live on French channels... and arbitrated by the lovely Laurence Ferrari of TF1 and David Pujadas of France 2... as well as satellite news channels... and was watched by about 18 million viewers...

François Hollande... we thought... handled the debate very well...he was the more presidential in stature throughout the two and a half hour gruelling debate...

Sarkozy... on the other hand... was abrasive and on the defensive ... unfortunately having to resort to using disgraced former socialist politician Dominique Strauss-Kahn's scandal... to undermine his opponent...

An underhanded ploy...

A desperate one...

Unnecessary... un-presidential...

The two men will continue campaigning to seduce the public to vote for them... until the final round of the presidential elections on Sunday.

Neither... of the two...

Is a... de Gaulle...

But... may the...

Best... man...

Win...
