L’Institut du Monde Arabe… a… “Tour de Force”…
“L’Institut du Monde Arabe“…
A magnificent… structure…
A poetic… expression of materials…
Geometric façade…
With “sophisticated technological” geometric… latticed screens…
Irresistibly seductive… Moorish Arab architecture… reminiscent of the “moucharabieh“… reminds one of Morocco… Egypt…
A powerful structure… of light and shadow…
The architect Jean Nouvel… won the 1981 prize… in architecture.
A… “tour de force” project… which opened… in 1987.
Located on the rue des Fossés-Saint-Bernard… in Paris…
The “Arab world Institute“… was established in… 1980.
A joint agreement… between eighteen Arab countries… and France…
To establish a bridging between the two cultures… in order to give information about the Arab world’s… cultural and spiritual aspirations… and values…
The awe inspiring institution… promotes cooperation… between the two nations… by also exchanging developments in science and technology… among other important areas…
On its 25th anniversary… on the 20th of February…
L’Institut du Monde Arabe’s… Marine Fossey… the “Conservatrice” and “Chef du Patrimoine”… announced… that the institution has been fully refurbished… to celebrate the cultural diversity of the Arab world…
A great achievement… indeed.
An emotional… undertaking….
We wish…
The prestigious… and awe-inspiring…
“L’Institut du Monde Arabe”
A brilliant and successful…
25 years… more…
and beyond…

Thoroughly enjoyed reading your post on L’Institute du Monde Arabe. Exquisitly described.
Bonjour, tout le monde. I visited this incredible building in June 2006 and found it totally intriguing. I have just spent the better part of an hour reading this Website and enjoying the photos and I feel like it was just yesterday that I was there in person. I hope that I can return someday to enjoy it all over again. I am very interested in learning more about the Arabic cultures. Thank you for this very pleasant memory.
