est magique”…

We were on our way to a business meeting in the “sixième arrondissement”… the Jardin de Luxembourg area of Saint-Germain-des-Prés…

Having concluded our meeting… we came “juste en face du”… “bakery and deli-café”… “Bread & Roses”… on rue de Fleurus… very close to where… Gertrude Stein… the legendary writer and lover of artists… lived…

This very café is different from other Parisian cafés… it is an épicerie fine, boulangerie, pâtisserie, salon de thé… serving the most amazing scones, several varieties of organic bread, delicious “viennoiseries”… but also the most sumptuous pâtisseries and gateaux.

It is actually an offshoot of the larger branch in the “chic quartier”… of the Faubourg Saint-Honoré… an “intime” salon de thé… épicerie fine… par excellence…

We sat on one of the wooden tables outside… enjoying our exquisite “quiches”… with an accompanying green salad…

“Après ça”… we had the “Mont-Blanc” “à partager”… to share… since summer is definitely beckoning us to shed our winter furs… for the revealing “robes d’été”… revealing more…

The hot “express”… was excellent and the service… charming and efficient.

Bread & Roses… is a little charmer…

We’re glad we have more meetings… in the same “quartier”…
