Paul… Our Local Boulangerie…
Paul…
A… boulangerie…
“Foundée en“… 1899…
Which… we frequent…
Particularly…
On a wet… rainy day…
Like… today…
Paul… is the passionate commitment of…
The Holder family… who have become famous in France and globally… for maintaining the traditional labour intensive methods of bread-baking that have been handed down generations…
Since the… 19th century…
The Holder family… deliberately refused the trend of factory mass production…insisting on the best quality ingredients… They believed… that the French made the best bread in the world… Certainly… Paul’s success on a national and international level proves him right…
We whole heartedly… agree…
Entering…
Les Belles Feuilles mall… we head straight to the cosy warmth of Paul’s… hop on to the high chairs around the round table…
We self-serve… on a black tray… while enjoying… the Xmas decorations…
There is a string of ginger men… decorating the counter… some plain…others dipped in… “chocolat”…
Paul is rustically… charming…
“Intime“…
It is sheer delight… watching the baker… fold the elongated dough… to bake the… ubiquitous baguette…
Hot crunchy from the outside… soft on the inside…
More often… we opt for the “baguette aux céréales“… which we nibble on… like every passionate gourmet Parisian would…
Scrumptiously… delicious…
We love… people as well as dog watching… since every chic Parisian must have their look-alike “chien”…
The French Poodle… the Pug… the Chou Chou… all are adorable and just as irritable as their owners…
Paul…
Is truly… “mignon“…
“Accuellant“…
Friendly…
It lifts… ones spirits…
It is… also…
“Moins… chèr…
“Raisonnable”…
It’s…
Darling…

I can smell the delicious aroma of the boulangerie from here, honest. For, I guess, reasons beyond us, people do tend to bear a sticking resemblance to their pooches. The long legged and boot footed model type travels with a grey hound; the fat assed matron picks a pug, red haired guys like chows, etc. However it was in Cannes that I noticed so many of these matching people and pooches that I started taking pictures. It is quite amazing. Thanks for referencing this.
