Obama’s Visit to Ireland – “Yes You Can”

“He came… he spoke… he conquered…”.

Obama stole the show…

yet again.

Something about the way he – walks…

Something about the way he – talks…

He dazzles with his intelligence.

He mesmerises with his charisma – captivates with his brilliance.

They, who tried to humiliate him – failed.

Those who demeaned him – damned themselves.

The Irish people came out in droves, in the thousands… to see him, to touch him.

He spoke to them with compassion.

He empathised with their struggle.

He felt their pain.

Obama commended the Irish people for choosing to “see past the scars of violence and mistrust to forge a lasting peace on this island”, adding that they had “surpassed the world’s highest hopes” and that “America will stand by you always in your pursuit of peace, by making that unlikely dream real.”

He ended by enveloping them with his love, for what they have endured, and admired them enormously for their courage… for their endurance.

“Never has a nation, so small, inspired so much in others”.

He acknowledged his gratitude for his great-great-great grandfather, who sailed to the land of opportunity, the U.S. of A., the greatest democracy on earth, by saying he wouldn’t be standing among the Irish men and woman – this day, if it weren’t for his ancestral, maternal grandfather making that journey.

He praised the “Green Isle” for its beauty, for its people (their charming Irish blarney), for the fact that many previous American presidents, such as Kennedy and Reagan’s ancestors, hailed from this delightful island and its people.

He ended his emotional speech by repeating his presidential election motto, “Yes We Can”.

Yes You Can…

Yes You Can…

Tomorrow Obama and his lovely Michelle will start their state visit to the United Kingdom.

We too are looking forward for their visiting us, in France, on Thursday.

Wherever he goes.

This man…

Fascinates…

Inspires…

He conquers.

Long Live…

President…

Barack Obama.
